Pediatric dentistry is all about the understanding that children are not just small adults. They have unique medical and dental needs and oftentimes unique emotional needs. A pediatric dentist cares for your child's dental health in the same way a pediatrician cares for your child's general health. We have completed an additional two to three years of specialty training, receiving additional training in the prevention of dental disease, pediatric medicine, psychology, behavior modification, growth and development, dental emergencies, and pharmacology. We use terminology that is non-threatening and easy to understand, doing our best to keep your child calm and comfortable during their treatment so they can grow up with a positive view of dental health.
Choosing a dentist can feel a lot like choosing an auto mechanic or a plumber. It may feel impossible to know who to trust, especially when it comes to the well-being of your children. If you are unsure about recommendations made by another pediatric dentist, please call our office at (703) 726-3030 for a complimentary second opinion. We frequently find we are able to provide other options than what has been recommended at other offices.
Our team wholly embraces the philosophy that each child is special and deserves to feel safe, and that their unique medical, dental, and emotional needs must be considered in their care. On top of that, we put great value on your input as a parent and consider you a true partner in your child’s care. At Little Pearls Dentistry, you’re an integral part of the team!
