PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY

Pediatric dentistry is all about the understanding that children are not just small adults. They have unique medical and dental needs and oftentimes unique emotional needs. To help children feel more comfortable, we follow the AAP and AAPD recommendation that children visit us by age one, establishing Little Pearls as their "dental home."

Studies have shown that children who start seeing the dentist at a young age are generally more comfortable with dentistry than children who start seeing the dentist when they are older. Children should never fear a visit to the dentist. They may fear the unknown. It is our job to show them that the unknown need not be something to fear. We take the time to help children and parents feel at ease from the moment they arrive in our office.

WHY CHOOSE A PEDIATRIC DENTIST?

Specialty Education

A pediatric dentist cares for your child's dental health in the same way a pediatrician cares for your child's general health. We have completed an additional two to three years of specialty training, receiving additional training in the prevention of dental disease, pediatric medicine, psychology, behavior modification, growth and development, dental emergencies, and pharmacology. We use terminology that is non-threatening and easy to understand.

A Dental Team You Can Trust

Do you feel that choosing a dentist is kind of like choosing an auto mechanic or a plumber? It can be impossible to know who to trust. If you are unsure about recommendations made by another pediatric dentist, please call our office for a second opinion. We frequently find we are able to provide other options than what has been recommended at other offices.

Would you like your child to be cared for by a team of caring and screened staff who embrace the philosophy that each child is special and deserves to feel safe?

Would you like your child's unique medical, dental, and emotional needs to be considered in his/her care?

Would you like your child's dentist to value your input and consider you a true partner in his/her care?

If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, please call us for the Little Pearls experience.
